- Grand Saga is closing down on April 30th
- In-app purchases have already been disabled
- You can ask for refunds for items you may have purchased
NPIXEL has declared that the popular game Gran Saga is ceasing operations worldwide, signifying its brief global tenure has come to an end. The creators have made it official that the service will be discontinued on April 30th, 2025, with in-app purchases and new downloads already halted.
Initially successful upon its Japanese release in 2021, Gran Saga didn’t go global until November 2024. Unfortunately, this meant that it had been operational for just six months before the developers decided to close it down.
As a devoted admirer, it appears the decision to shut down was due to some serious financial woes and the difficulty of maintaining a profitable, long-term service. Despite Gran Saga’s captivating debut, it struggled to establish itself firmly in the fiercely competitive global gaming landscape.
In this field, it’s tough for fresh games to flourish because many popular ones have strong fanbases who are loyal to them. Newcomers usually need something uniquely innovative to stand out. However, a game that was initially successful in Japan failed to maintain its momentum globally, resulting in an early departure from the market.
The closing down of gacha RPGs, such as My Hero Academia: The Strongest Hero last month, is simply the latest example in a rising pattern. It’s not an isolated case; many others have met the same fate due to market saturation. With numerous games available, players often prefer sticking to their favorites, which makes it challenging for new or specialized games to thrive over the long term.
If you’ve recently bought something and are considering requesting a refund, please note that you have until May 30th to submit your query. However, please bear in mind that certain factors such as usage of the product or store conditions may prevent us from processing your request.
If you’re among those who played in Ethprozen, I must say this may be a hard goodbye, but regrettably, such occurrences are increasingly prevalent within the mobile gaming world.
