Every August, talk show host Dave Rubin signs off social media for 31 days.
The “Rubin Report” recordings will be on hold for now. Instead of continuously checking for updates online or doom scrolling, Rubin is taking some time off to unwind. This self-imposed break allows him to step away from the non-stop news cycle we’re all so accustomed to.
In the latest FOX Nation game show, the four competitors built upon Rubin’s pledge by increasing it threefold.
Greg Gutfeld’s ‘What Did I Miss?’ challenge invites four individuals to reside in an offline retreat in upstate New York, devoid of Wi-Fi, relatives, friends, and social media posts for a period of 90 days.
And, most of all, no news updates.
Afterward, they gather at a studio belonging to FOX Nation for the task of distinguishing real news stories from false ones labeled as Fake NewsTM. To make it more intriguing, this discussion takes place exactly 90 days after the commencement of President Donald Trump’s second inauguration ceremony on January 20th.
At the outset of the competition, the host, renowned figure on Fox News, Gutfeld, remarks that it’s unlike any other game show he’s ever encountered.
It’s not marketing hype.
Today marks the premiere of a new three-episode game show on FOX Nation. On May 13 and 14, you can catch episodes two and three, respectively.

On Fox News, Greg Gutfeld is accompanied by frequent contributors Kat Timpf and comedian Jamie Lissow. They provide questionable advice to the competitors while interspersing their comments with jokes. Jamie Lissow, known for his soft-spoken demeanor, hides a sharp sense of humor behind it.
In this game, there are multiple stages where participants sometimes collaborate but eventually compete. The initial episode from a trilogy sees one competitor leaving the playing area.
It’s more emotional than it sounds.
During our off-grid stint, we grew incredibly close as a group. It’s clear that Team FOX Nation selected our contestants thoughtfully – they’re warm and authentic, often tearing up at the prospect of being reunited with their families.
They’ve been apart for 90 days, remember?
The show has a grim aspect to it, and we’ll be rooting for the competitors to receive more than just the grand prize of $50,000 as compensation.

However, let’s discuss the games. It’s more like an intense battle between Truth and Deception during President Trump’s initial 90 days, and there were so many bizarre disclosures that it felt like we could have filled an entire series with them. In fact, “What Did I Miss?” might not capture enough the surreal, unbelievable aspect of President Trump’s first 90 days.
The following installments may take care of that quibble.
Gutfeld’s character suits the events perfectly, as they combine elements of a game show with a dark undertone of humor. The initial episode extends beyond the usual 40 minutes, yet it seldom feels boring.
In my humble opinion as a film critic of history, it’s tough to conjure up a sequel that would match the initial installment’s impact. The opening act of Donald Trump’s presidency was far more captivating and newsworthy than the average presidential trailer.
The show ‘What Did I Miss?’, hosted by Greg Gutfeld, offers a refreshing, unique take on a well-known television concept. Amidst an era of endless reboots and reimaginings, FOX Nation has discovered an authentic original.
