In an abandoned parking garage, the Fall/Winter 2025 runway show took place, with models sporting skin-toned boots and arms adorned with belts. This footwear brand ventured into ready-to-wear clothing for the first time, expanding their creative horizons. True to form, the collection featured rebellious and unconventional shapes, reflecting its avant-garde essence.
This collection was masterfully designed by Betsy Johnson herself. Her unique blend of casual yet tantalizing flair is evident in every carelessly chic ensemble. Hair was casually disheveled and styled under fresh racing sunglasses, while the sleeves drooped beyond fingertips. Belts were strategically placed up and down the models’ bodies, cinching their waists at the hip, giving an impression of controlled confusion.
The star attractions on display were undoubtedly the innovative footwear designs. Conceived with a fresh perspective, each design seamlessly merged futuristic aesthetics with practical functionality. Dramatic arched platforms propelled the models along the catwalk, showcasing the label’s unique “Leap Gravity” concept. The sneaker collection boasted vibrant purple fur accents, bold red dye effects, and intricate speckled patterns. Some designs even showcased a double-decker sole, with laces dripping from between the layers. Laces were repurposed in creative ways, appearing as jacket belts, bag straps, earrings, and handkerchiefs. Meanwhile, insoles were reimagined as floating bandeaus.
