Gucci Taps George Mackay and Yara Shahidi for SS25 Campaign

As a dedicated admirer of fashion, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been following Gucci’s exciting journey with their SS25 campaign! This time around, they’ve collaborated with talented actors George Mackay and Yara Shahidi as models, and the esteemed Canadian filmmaker Xavier Dolan has taken the reins behind the camera. It’s truly a sight to behold!

In a softly lit room adorned with vintage furniture, Dolan presents his everyday life-inspired campaign featuring items from Sabato De Sarno’s SS25 collection as artistic director for Gucci. After Michele, De Sarno’s Gucci has a more subdued look compared to the bold patterns that were emblematic of the brand during its previous leadership.

In one picture, Yara Shahidi sports a casual everyday outfit consisting of a white tank top, khaki pants, a brown logo belt, and white sneakers. In another setting, the actress dons a more subdued olive green fringe jacket and a striking ensemble focused on a red leather coat. Generally, the focus is drawn to accessories such as Gucci’s Bamboo bags, available in lilac, all-red, and olive green versions.

Nevertheless, De Sarno maintains Gucci’s lighthearted interpretation of masculinity, dressing George Mackay in various outfits that include a see-through mesh polo shirt. In another outfit, Mackay exposes more skin, donning a brown sweater with extremely short shorts and Gucci loafers. Lastly, a formal ensemble consists of a solid brown blazer and trousers paired with a purple mesh shirt. The Gucci logo is subtly embossed on the jacket’s breast, and the look is completed with a small burgundy leather crossbody bag.
