Gulshan Devaiah calls Vinesh Phogat's appeal for a silver medal at Paris Olympics 2024 'unfair': 'I’m deciding to accept it and move on'

As a sports enthusiast and a fan of resilience, I wholeheartedly support Gulshan Devaiah’s stance on this matter. Having been through the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with competitive sports, I understand the heartache Vinesh Phogat must be feeling right now. Yet, as much as I empathize with her, I also feel it is crucial to uphold fairness and justice for all athletes who have faced similar circumstances.

Actor Gulshan Devaiah has voiced his opinion on Vinesh Phogat’s proposal for a shared silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024, should she not qualify for gold. The Ulajh star believes that it would be “inequitable” to other athletes who were disqualified under similar circumstances.

The announcement that Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from the Paris Olympics 2024 has been widely discussed online since Wednesday. In response, Bollywood actor Gulshan Devaiah posted an unconventional suggestion for awarding her a silver medal on his social media platforms.

He expressed, “I wish that Vinesh is granted the Silver medal emotionally, but I believe it’s unfair for every athlete who was previously disqualified under similar circumstances. Although I choose to accept this situation and move forward, I can’t help but feel the immense pain this must cause Vinesh and her team. It’s a truly devastating circumstance.”

As an equally passionate Indian, I express my gratitude to you! Take care and stay healthy! 🤝🏼 Namaste (with folded hands emojis).

During a recent interview, former actress-turned-politician Hema Malini expressed her surprise upon learning about Geeta Phogat’s disqualification due to exceeding the weight limit by just 100 grams. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy weight.

“Maintaining my weight is crucial, and every gram counts! It’s a valuable lesson for all creators, including women like me… Every single gram makes a big difference! I truly empathize with her desire to shed those extra 100 grams, but it seems she doesn’t have the chance right now,” I wish.
