Gwen Stefani’s Son Seems To Be Following In Blake Shelton’s Footsteps, And Her Ex-Husband Has Thoughts

As a gamer who has spent countless hours playing music-themed rhythm games and virtual band simulators, I can’t help but feel a sense of awe when I see the musical talents that run in the Rossdale family. Growing up with parents like Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, it’s no wonder Zuma has inherited their love for music and has even found his niche in country tunes, thanks to his stepfather Blake Shelton.

It’s no secret that music is deeply ingrained in the family tree of Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo Rossdale, as their parents Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale were prominent figures on the ’90s charts. Given this musical heritage, it’s not shocking that they’ve developed a taste for music themselves. Interestingly, 16-year-old Zuma seems to be taking after his stepfather, Blake Shelton, who is well-known as a coach on The Voice. Recently, Gavin Rossdale expressed his thoughts about his son’s country music career and the values he holds dear when it comes to his children.

In the past few decades, Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani were popular on the music scene, with Rossdale topping the rock charts with songs like “Glycerine,” while Stefani was the ska queen as the lead singer of No Doubt. Today, they both continue their performing careers, but now they also have three sons. Recently, Rossdale shared insights about the unique musical paths each of them has taken, discussing this with the New York Post.

Indeed, they’re incredibly gifted. The three lads, each one of them, impressively so. Apollo, the youngest, is a prodigious pianist. Zuma, on the other hand, is serenading the countryside with his singing and acoustic guitar. Lastly, Kingston is venturing into rock music. In summary, they’re all exceptionally talented individuals – and that’s what truly matters to me. I value their character above all else, regardless of the paths they choose in life.

It seems as though Gavin Rossdale finds it refreshing that his son Zuma leans more towards a “Hillbilly Bone” style rather than “Machinehead,” but what truly matters to him is the fact that both his sons share their parents’ passion for music and are developing into fine young men.

They certainly are growing up, as Zuma recently celebrated his 16th birthday, and Gwen Stefani posted an Instagram video in his honor that shows just how close he is to Blake Shelton. Check that out below:

It’s clear that Zuma embodies the image of a rising country music star, sporting a button-up shirt, jeans, and cowboy hat with his stepfather. The bond between him and Blake Shelton is evident in numerous photos, including one where he seems to mirror Shelton’s younger self sitting on a truck. Yet, pictures of Zuma holding a guitar hint that his passion for country music may have blossomed well before Gwen Stefani and Shelton were an item.

Over time, Blake Shelton has frequently discussed his insights into parenthood and emphasized that his sons are now his top priority. As evidence of this, back in July, he provided Zuma Rossdale with the chance to perform onstage at his bar Ole Red in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. There, Zuma sang Zach Bryan’s “Oklahoma Smokeshow.”

In 2015, Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani went their separate ways, and because of their distinct approaches to parenting, Rossdale noted that they don’t actively co-parent but rather handle things individually. Rossdale believes that the children, Kingston, Apollo, and Zuma, have developed a unique outlook on life as a result, and what matters most is that they are fully aware they are “loved and supported” regardless of their location.

It’s wonderful to see them receiving backing not only from Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, but also significantly from Blake Shelton as well.

As a gaming enthusiast taking a break, I’m excited to tune in on my screen and catch Gwen Stefani when she graces Season 26 of The Voice! This musical extravaganza is set to air on NBC at 8 p.m. ET on Monday, September 23, 2024, or you can stream it the next day if you’ve got a Peacock subscription. Can’t wait for the rhythm and harmony!
