As a devoted fan of wellness and luxury travel, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming Goop Wellness Weekend at Baha Mar in The Bahamas! With my background as a professional dancer on Broadway for over a decade, I can only imagine the invigorating experiences that are in store.

The Bahamas have always been popular and recently famous visitors include Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at the $15,000 per night Rosalita House on Harbour Island in late March. Notably, Baha Mar resort in Nassau has welcomed Mariah Carey, Future, and Liev Schreiber last year, where his son Sasha obtained his scuba certification.
At Baha Mar, the expansive 1,000-acre resort, there exists a exclusive Nexus club, established by Justin Timberlake, Ernie Els, and Tiger Woods for its members. Moreover, since the year 2021, this luxury haven has unveiled an impressive $200 million, 15-acre Baha Bay water park. This new addition to the resort features a multitude of dining options, alongside an 818 Shack, a branch of Kendall Jenner’s tequila brand.
Before the Derek Jeter Invitational golf tournament begins, Baha Mar is collaborating with Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop lifestyle brand to launch a Wellness Weekend from September 13 to 15. This event is open for booking by anyone; packages begin at $1,500.
Goop is embarking on its second travel collaboration, having previously teamed up with Celebrity Cruises for “Goop at Sea” in 2022. This was a nine-night wellness retreat aboard the luxury liner, Celebrity Beyond, sailing from Barcelona to France and Italy. Gwyneth Paltrow’s involvement as Celebrity’s well-being advisor allowed her to design and offer wellness programs for the cruise.
At Baha Mar’s upcoming three-day Wellness Weekend, attendees have the option to stay at any of the resort’s three hotels: Grand Hyatt, SLS, or Rosewood. Goop’s founder, Gwyneth Paltrow, won’t be in attendance, but she’s personally selected a variety of activities featuring certified instructors. One such instructor is Isaac Boots, a renowned fitness trainer and choreographer known for his invigorating Torch’d workouts. Stars like Paltrow, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Jessica Chastain are fans of these sessions.
For 12 years, I danced on Broadway, forming my initial connections with notables like Brooke Shields. There, I choreographed a one-person show for Hugh Jackman and graced the stage at the Tony Awards alongside Liza Minnelli (THR interviews Boots). My experience as a Broadway dancer in productions such as “Mamma Mia!” and “West Side Story” influenced the creation of Torch’d. This fitness program involves focused repetitions, extensive core workouts, and practices I employed to maintain agility and vitality while performing eight shows weekly. Thus, it’s crucial that participants remain energetic rather than debilitated.
In addition to a daily workout session, the schedule features morning sessions with wellness coach Koya Webb. These sessions incorporate yoga or breath work, sound bath healing, aromatherapy, meditation, and affirmation setting. Koya Webb, whose clients include Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade, Stevie Wonder, and Ashley Judd, shares with THR: “Baja Mar is an extraordinary resort that truly embodies nature, which in itself raises your energy level. Everywhere you go, you’re surrounded by lush gardens, infinity pools, and stunning views. Being able to lead participants through these practices in this setting amplifies the therapeutic benefits of everything I teach. Gwyneth and her team are always exploring new methods, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to offer some of these experiences as I truly enjoy witnessing people’s transformation.”
As a gamer, I’d describe it like this: During my Wellness Weekend getaway, I’ll be treating myself to some extra perks. I’ll unwind with a massage at ESPA, the massive 30,000-square-foot spa in Nassau – the largest one around! I’ll also enjoy a sunset sail on a catamaran and spend an afternoon at the Nexus club. Plus, I’ll receive some delightful goodies from Baha Mar and Goop Beauty, not to mention signature Goop drinks like Carrot Orange Margaritas and Spicy Cilantro Lemonade, as well as tasty snacks such as Date Balls, Detox Granola Bars, and various smoothies. For meals on Saturday and Sunday, I can dine at any of the three restaurants on the property or join a Bahamian cooking class in The Kitchen. It’s going to be an amazing weekend!
During the weekend, you might encounter some unexpected delights such as a classic Junkanoo procession featuring local dancers, or visits from flamingos residing in an on-premise sanctuary.
