H. Moser & Cie. Introduces a Retrograde Complication to the Pioneer

As a seasoned horologist with a penchant for the unconventional, I can’t help but be captivated by the H. Moser & Cie.’s Pioneer Retrograde Seconds. Having traversed the watch landscape from the high-end complications of the Swiss Alps to the vibrant street culture of Tokyo, I’ve yet to encounter a timepiece that so effortlessly blends innovation and sporty elegance as this beauty does.

Following the reveal of a stylish duo of watches in collaboration with Studio Underd0g at Geneva Watch Days, H. Moser & Cie. is now refreshing its Pioneer collection by introducing an exhilarating new piece.

The Pioneer Retrograde Seconds watch showcases the brand’s constant pursuit of innovation by incorporating a retrograde mechanism into its well-known design. This model is encased in a robust steel case, approximately 43mm in diameter. It presents itself with a deep blue sunburst dial that fades towards midnight. The 30-second retrograde mechanism powers the watch, and the signature complication stands out prominently on the lower dial, enhancing the sporty charm of this timepiece.

With a three-day power reserve, the HMC 250 Manufacture caliber inside the Pioneer Retrograde Seconds is equipped with an automatic winding system that winds both ways and operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (vph). The intricate inner workings of the movement can be admired through the transparent sapphire caseback.

The Pioneer Retrograde Seconds, priced at $21,900 USD, can be inquired about via H. Moser & Cie.’s website or their physical stores.
