Hailee Steinfeld Shares Exciting News About ‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’!

Following more than a year’s worth of postponements, the upcoming movie “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” seems to be gradually taking shape. Most recently, Hailee Steinfeld, who plays the role of Spider-Gwen in the trilogy, provided a hopeful update about the production. After the incredible, Oscar-nominated performance of “Into the Spider-Verse” in 2019 and the planned release of “Across the Spider-Verse” in 2023, the final installment of the trilogy, “Beyond the Spider-Verse”, was initially slated for a theater release at the start of last year. However, its premiere date was pushed back indefinitely, leaving fans uncertain about when they could rejoin Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) on his adventures. Fortunately, Hailee Steinfeld’s recent updates have brought some much-needed optimism to the project.

During a chat with Josh Horowitz from MTV for publicity of her latest horror film titled Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan and directed by Ryan Coogler, Hailee Steinfeld was inquired about the upcoming animated film, Beyond the Spider-Verse. Although she didn’t disclose any specific story details, the actress shared some insights on the movie’s progress, stating that things are finally progressing positively. “We’re making good headway with it,” Steinfeld shared. “Just have faith in the journey.

The actress didn’t specifically address the delays, but she did assure her fans that the delays and rumors won’t prevent directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson from producing something fantastic. “If there’s one thing I’ve learned about this – it’s that,” Steinfeld added. “You hand it over to them, and you’ll end up with something extraordinary. So we just have to trust the process.

‘Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse’ Finally Has a Release Date

Delays are common in Hollywood, even for highly anticipated movies like Denis Villeneuve’s Dune and Matt Reeves’ The Batman. But what has disappointed fans of Beyond the Spider-Verse is the absence of a scheduled release date. However, recent updates from Hailee Steinfeld have provided some long-awaited news.

After spending nearly a year in cinematic suspension, the movie “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” has now been assigned a release date. During this year’s CinemaCon event, Sony Animation announced that “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” will be shown in theaters on June 4, 2027. However, it’s important to note that the movie is still quite some time away from being screened. Although this long wait might seem surprising, it’s not uncommon for animated films due to their typical production duration, and especially given the exceptional animation style and quality of the “Spider-Verse” series. Moreover, it was hinted that “Beyond the Spider-Verse” is being prepared for a grand, large-format theatrical debut.

As for now, the official lineup for the sequel hasn’t been finalized. Nonetheless, it’s been made clear that Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, and Hailee Steinfeld will return to their characters Miles Morales, Peter B. Parker, and Gwen Stacey respectively. These characters are essential to the plot, so it wouldn’t be much of a film without them. The finale of Across the Spider-Verse hinted at the comeback of Spider-Noir (Nicolas Cage), Peter Porker (John Mulaney), and Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn).
