On Wednesday evening, Halsey graced the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards once more to perform her fresh release, “Ego.
Upon arriving at a house on a bicycle via a stage, the vocalist wheeled open a garage door to find her band already inside. Swiftly snatching her guitar, Halsey then rocked out in the garage, showcasing the new single from her upcoming album titled The Great Impersonator.

Halsey makes a comeback to the VMA stage following her last performance at the event in 2016, where she performed “Closer” with The Chainsmokers. Known for her hit single “Bad At Love,” Halsey has also been nominated for seven MTV Video Music Awards in the past.
This year, the musician known for “Without Me” revealed that her fifth studio album titled “The Great Impersonator” would drop on October 25th. This will be her first album since 2021’s release of “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power“. To date, Halsey has already shared a few songs from the new record, such as “The End,” “Lucky” (which references Britney Spears’ 2000 hit “Lucky”), “Lonely Is the Muse,” and “Ego.
Previously on social media, Halsey described creating this album as being in the gap between life and death. It seems like an endless time has passed before you could have it. I’ll endure a little more wait. I’ve waited a whole decade for this moment, after all.
