As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for the offbeat and the avant-garde, I’ve seen my fair share of gaming experiences that push the boundaries of reality. Yet, Harmony Korine’s Baby Invasion has left me utterly bewildered and intrigued.
This story should come with a disclaimer or spoiler alert, something. Consider yourself warned.
Prior to the world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, Harmony Korine’s latest cinematic exploration, “Baby Invasion”, has been unveiled. In anticipation of this event, press materials were circulated, offering an insight into the film’s underlying theme. While we can only truly understand its message after watching the movie, it seems valuable to share these details as the film is now playing on the Lido screen here.
Titled as a highly realistic, multiplayer first-person shooter game that unfolds like a chilling home invasion suspense story, “Baby Invasion” involves a band of mercenaries disguising themselves using, you’ve got it right, baby-like avatars. Their mission is to infiltrate the homes of the wealthy and influential, leaving no trace behind. Players must delve into every mystery before time expires. This game comes from EDGLRD, a multimedia design collective led by Korine, and boasts an original soundtrack by Burial. The creative work follows his previous release, “Aggro Dr1ft“, which also debuted in Venice.

And now, we stream our crimes directly to you, the viewer.

Nobody is safe. We are just the flickering light.
