As a hardcore Harry Potter fan who grew up with these magical films, stepping into the world of Wizards of Baking feels like a delightful reunion with old friends. The Phelps twins, fondly remembered as the Weasley twins, have brought a touch of Hogwarts back to our screens, and it’s heartening to see them catching up with their fellow cast-mates.
Between our annual tradition of watching the Harry Potter movies in sequence and the excitement building for the upcoming Harry Potter: Wizards of Max series, the magical realm has grown with its inaugural baking competition show, Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking. Airing on Food Network, this program finds James and Oliver Phelps (better known as the Weasley twins) hosting as teams of skilled bakers transform ingredients into breathtaking desserts. Naturally, some of their cast colleagues joined them on this adventure.
During our conversation with the Phelps brothers, they shared memorable fan encounters when revisiting the film sets and mentioned the role of the late Maggie Smith in the production’s history. Moreover, they talked about inviting some former cast members to join the upcoming series at Hogwarts, as expressed by Oliver.
We maintain contact with them, and I must say it was delightful to interact with them within the Harry Potter universe as well. One particularly memorable moment occurred when Bonnie Wright joined us, and none of the bakers knew she was there. Their reaction was priceless. When we see Bon, we affectionately call her ‘sis,’ and they’re taken aback, exclaiming something like, “Wow, they really did it!” For us, it’s a casual thing, but it’s humbling to remember the impact our presence has on fans. Doing it on set again was always exciting.
Fans haven’t seen the Harry Potter cast reunited like this since the films ended, but according to the Phelps twins, they regularly catch up with many of their co-stars, including Bonnie Wright, whom they fondly call “sis.” So while it’s exciting for fans to see Wright alongside the Phelps twins on the Harry Potter sets for Wizards of Baking, it’s just another ordinary get-together for the Harry Potter actors. It’s heartwarming to know these actors continue to keep in touch after the conclusion of the Wizarding World movies. They did grow up together, after all!
As a devoted Potterhead, I’m thrilled to share that Bonnie Wright, along with Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and Warwick Davis (Professor Filius Flitwick), have been confirmed for the Food Network’s Wizards of Baking. In this exciting series, not only will James and Oliver Phelps serve as hosts, but our favorite actors will also join in the judging panel, alongside culinary experts Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef. Can’t wait to see these magical moments unfold!
The series brings the Phelps twins back to iconic locations such as the Forbidden Forest and the Great Hall. Isn’t it fascinating that they chose to involve their co-stars in this journey? We eagerly anticipate the camaraderie between longtime friends during the episodes, and are excited to see Bonnie Wright and others react to the impressive bakes.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to be able to stay updated on the latest episodes of “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking” with my Max subscription. Each Friday, I eagerly await the release of fresh episodes!
