Harvey Weinstein Hospitalized With COVID-19 and Double Pneumonia

As a longtime gamer and follower of Hollywood news, I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions upon hearing about Harvey Weinstein‘s latest health crisis. On one hand, I’m relieved that he is finally receiving the medical attention he needs after years of neglecting his own health and facing numerous allegations of sexual assault. But on the other hand, it’s hard not to feel a sense of schadenfreude knowing that someone who wielded so much power and influence in Hollywood has been brought low by his own actions.

Harvey Weinstein, the former Hollywood film producer now serving time for sex offenses, was taken to the hospital due to a COVID-19 infection and double pneumonia, according to his representative, who shared this information with The Hollywood Reporter.

Weinstein was returned to the Bellevue Hospital’s Prison Ward for medical care due to several persistent health issues, including diabetes, high blood pressure, spinal stenosis, heart and lung fluid buildup, and other conditions, as stated by his representative and consultants Craig Rothfeld. Subsequently, he became infected with COVID-19 and developed double pneumonia in both lungs.

“We remain thankful to the dedicated officers, healthcare professionals at DOCS, CHS, and NYC H+H for swiftly transferring Mr. Weinstein to Bellevue Hospital’s Prison Ward. We will collaborate closely with them to ensure he receives appropriate medical care.”

Weinstein had been imprisoned for 23 years following his 2020 rape conviction in New York. However, this conviction was recently overturned. A preliminary date for a new trial has been arranged, and it is anticipated that jury selection will commence on November 12th.

In 2022, a Los Angeles jury found him guilty of three sexual assault charges relating to Jane Doe No. 1, later identified as former Russian model Evgeniya Chernyshova. Weinstein has initiated an appeal against the 16-year prison term imposed on him for these offenses.
