Has Netflix’s The Woman in Cabin 10 Just Become MUST SEE TV?!

Netflix has unveiled the initial snapshot and plot summary for their upcoming movie starring Keira Knightley (known for films like “Black Doves” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”) and Guy Pearce (“Memento” and “The Clearing”). The film, titled “The Woman in Cabin 10“, is adapted from the 2016 novel of the same name by Ruth Ware. In this thriller, Knightley plays a journalist who witnesses someone being thrown overboard during a cruise, but all passengers are accounted for. The question arises: Is there a cover-up underway, or is she experiencing delusions?

As a movie critic, I recently had the chance to watch “The Woman in Cabin 10,” skillfully directed by Simon Stone, who has previously impressed us with films like “The Daughter” and “The Dig.” The script was penned by none other than Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel. Joining this talented team were Hannah Waddingham (from the popular series Ted Lasso), David Ajala (known for his role in The Dark Knight), and Gitte Witt (from Cadaver).

The film will debut in the fall, and Netflix released the official plot:

On a lavish sea voyage as part of an assignment, a reporter observes a passenger being thrown off the ship during the wee hours, yet is informed it was merely a dream, since all passengers are present. Unsupported by any onboard belief, she persists in seeking truth, risking her own safety.

Beyond the picture and Netflix’s webpage for “The Woman in Cabin 10“, few details have been disclosed about the movie so far. A definite release date and trailer are anticipated to be announced shortly. The story follows travel journalist Lo Blacklock on a cruise ship, where she sees a woman being thrown overboard or perhaps it was just her imagination. With numerous twists, this book promises to be an engaging thriller. Author Harlan Coben is also releasing a sequel titled “The Woman in Suite 11” this year.

Netflix Had Quite the Day

Today has been quite eventful for Netflix, as what usually is a tranquil Thursday in late January unexpectedly became an action-packed day filled with exciting announcements about their upcoming lineup of movies and series set to debut this year. Additionally, it looks like 2025 could be a significant year for the streaming service, as both “Stranger Things” and “Cobra Kai” are wrapping up, and we can anticipate a new thriller titled “RIP,” directed by Joe Carnahan and starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some exciting updates from the recent Next on Netflix gathering! On the horizon is the highly anticipated sequel to The Old Guard, starring Charlize Theron, with fresh glimpses unveiled. Additionally, we got our first sneak peek at Fear Street: Prom Queen. Moreover, mark your calendars for Mar. 12, 2025, as the new talk show from John Mulaney, titled Everybody’s Live, will make its debut on Netflix then.

Furthermore, another image has surfaced from the eagerly awaited new Frankenstein movie directed by Guillermo del Toro, starring Oscar Isaac as Dr. Frankenstein. This film is a long-held dream project for del Toro, who stated, “this film has been on my mind since I was a child— for fifty years!” The footage shows the Monster looming over Frankenstein’s bed, and it appears to be reminiscent of the classic interpretation by the late artist Bernie Wrightson. The movie Frankenstein is set to premiere in November.
