‘Hazbin Hotel’ Offshoot ‘Helluva Boss’ Gets Prime Video Run, Two-Season Renewal

Prime Video is expanding the animated version of hell seen in Hazbin Hotel.

Amazon’s streaming service, which they own, has made a deal with creator Vivienne Medrano to not only bring her “Helluva Boss” spinoff of “Hazbin” to Prime Video, but also to prolong the series. Starting in the fall, the first two seasons of the show, currently available on YouTube, will be streamed on Prime. Additionally, Amazon has commissioned two more seasons that will initially air exclusively on their platform before eventually appearing on YouTube.

Additionally, Medrano has signed a first-look deal with Prime Video to develop new projects.

2024 marked the grand premiere of “Hazbin Hotel” on Amazon’s Prime Video, four years after its humble beginnings as an independently produced pilot by creator Vincent Medrano, shared on YouTube. To my delight, Prime Video showed faith in the series from day one, granting it a two-season order to kick off, and then generously renewed it for another two seasons in July of the same year! As a passionate gamer and fan of adult animation, I couldn’t be happier about this exciting journey ahead.

Exceptional Leader” revolves around the character Blitzo, a demon born in hell who manages a modest yet disorderly assassination enterprise. Over two seasons and a total of 20 episodes, the show has garnered at least 12 million views on YouTube, with any 30 seconds of video play being considered a view.

Medrano is the one who initiated the production of this series, also serving as an executive producer alongside Tom Murray. Leading the voice acting are Brandon Rogers, Richard Horvitz, Vivian Williams, Erica Lindbeck, and Bryce Pinkham.
