As a seasoned gamer of the small screen, I must say that the upcoming HBO series “Task” has my attention piqued! With Brad Ingelsby, the brilliant mind behind “Mare of Easttown,” at the helm and an ensemble cast that reads like a Who’s Who of television talent, this limited series promises to deliver a gripping tale.
HBO is rounding out the cast of its upcoming limited series Task.
The creator of “Mare of Easttown,” Brad Ingelsby, has brought on Martha Plimpton and Mireille Enos to join its extensive cast. Mark Ruffalo plays the lead role as an FBI agent spearheading a task force investigating a series of drug-related burglaries in the suburbs of Philadelphia, with the drama unfolding there.
It was disclosed on Sunday that Plimpton will appear in ‘Task’ as part of HBO and Max’s upcoming shows. In this role, she will portray Kathleen McGinty, a dedicated FBI agent who asks Ruffalo’s character to lead the task force at a time when she is compelled to retire. Enos has been cast as Susan Brandis, Tom’s wife and the emotional backbone of their family. The two married young, with her being instrumental in Tom leaving his priesthood.
In addition to the main cast, actors such as Tom Pelphrey, Emilia Jones, Thuso Mbedu, Raúl Castillo, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Fabien Frankel, Alison Oliver, Owen Teague, Dominic Colón, Margarita Levieva, Raphael Sbarge, Mickey Sumner, Brian Goodman, Elvis Nolasco, Colin Bates, Isaach de Bankole, Phoebe Fox, Silvia Dionicio, and Coral Peña are also part of the production.
The project is developed from an initial concept by Ingelsby, who also plays the role of writer and producer for this limited series. He collaborates with Ruffalo in executive production, along with directors Jeremiah Zagar and Salli Richardson-Whitfield; Paul Lee and Mark Roybal from Wiip, as well as David Crockett. Nicole Jordan-Webber and Jeremy Yaches of Public Record are jointly serving as co-executive producers.
Last year, Plimpton acted alongside Kate Winslet in HBO’s show titled “The Regime.” This Emmy-winning actor will appear next in “Prime Target,” premiering on Apple TV+ in January. Currently, Plimpton is filming for the adaptation of “East of Eden” on Netflix. Plimpton is represented by Innovative Artists and Markham Froggatt.
Actress Mireille Enos has signed on for a regular role in Apple TV+’s “For All Mankind” for its fifth season, marking her reunion with her co-star Joel Kinnaman from the series “The Killing.” Her recent projects also include AMC’s “Lucky Hank,” Amazon Prime Video’s “Hanna” and “Good Omens.” Enos is represented by Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Howard Green Entertainment, and Goodman Genow.
