As a seasoned gamer with a heart for all things magical and a deep-rooted love for the Harry Potter universe, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement at the prospect of this upcoming TV series. Having grown up with the books and movies, the idea of a new generation bringing these characters to life is truly captivating.
HBO is on the hunt for young actors to portray the leading characters of Harry, Ron, and Hermione in their forthcoming _Harry Potter_ television show. A casting call has been made public, inviting child actors aged nine to eleven to audition.
Actors should be residents of either the UK or Ireland for consideration. HBO is asking for 30-second self-recorded videos where you read a poem or story of your choice in your native accent. In another video submission, actors are required to share personal details such as where they reside and their height.
In the casting call, HBO notes that it’s committed to “inclusive, diverse casting.”
The post asks for qualified candidates of all backgrounds for each role, regardless of ethnicity, sex, physical ability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic shielded by law, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
The submission deadline is October 31, with filming set to take place throughout 2025 and 2026. Showrunners are planning for the Harry Potter series to span seven seasons, each corresponding to a book in the franchise.
