As a devoted fan who has been following the captivating world of “Heels” since its inception, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and hope upon hearing Stephen Amell‘s latest remarks about the possibility of Season 3. Having witnessed Jack Spade’s gripping journey firsthand, it’s clear that there is indeed more story to unravel, and I eagerly await the day when our favorite wrestling drama takes center stage once more.
It was recently revealed that the popular Starz series, “Heels,” will premiere on Netflix on September 15th. There’s a chance that the show could carry on if it thrives on the streaming service. Originally airing in 2021 and sadly canceled in 2023 after only two seasons, the series ended abruptly with the fate of Jack Spade and the DWL left unresolved. Now, the actor who plays Spade, Stephen Amell, is discussing the potential for a third season of this wrestling-themed drama, and what such a continuation might mean for fans.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on his YouTube channel, Amell hinted that there’s definitely more story left to explore for Heels, and he thinks a third season is quite possible given the current circumstances. However, whether or not we’ll see another season will depend on the show’s performance on Netflix and Amell’s busy schedule, as he currently stars in NBC’s Suits: L.A., a spinoff of the long-running legal drama that originally aired on the USA Network for nine seasons. Regarding potential developments in Season 3 of Heels, Amell mentioned that the plan is to move the story forward.
As an avid fan of the show, I eagerly anticipate Season 3, but with a slight twist in my schedule due to a new job taking priority, I’ll have to adjust my viewing plans accordingly. However, rest assured that the creators won’t leave us hanging; they wouldn’t want to end my beloved character in such an unfortunate way. Instead, there seems to be more of his story left untold, and if given a chance, we might see a time jump ahead in Season 3. Fingers crossed for more captivating episodes!
As a passionate film aficionado, I can’t help but ponder over the intricacies of the business side of cinema. If enough moviegoers flock to see a film, the overwhelming evidence of its popularity makes it impossible to deny its success.
There’s a chance that the series “Heels” could make a comeback for Season 3, as Netflix often revives canceled network shows. A prime example of this is “Lucifer,” which was canceled by Fox but gained new life on Netflix thanks to a passionate fan campaign. This led Netflix to pick up the show and allow it to run for three more seasons, giving it a fitting conclusion. Similar situations have happened with other shows like “Designated Survivor” and “Manifest.” So, there’s hope that the fans of “Heels” might eventually get the resolution they’re hoping for.
Stephen Amell Couldn’t Say No to Heels
After playing Oliver Queen on the CW’s Arrow for eight seasons, Stephen Amell felt it was time for a break from television. The intense physical demands of his role had taken their toll on him as a Canadian actor. Yet, with a lifelong passion for wrestling and previous experiences in professional wrestling since 2015, the opportunity to play Jack Spade in Heels was an offer he couldn’t refuse.
I found it quite amusing as I wrapped up Arrow, and I made it clear to my supervisor: ‘A) I need a break from TV. B) I’m not ready to sign another six-year contract immediately, and C) I prefer to avoid any physically demanding roles for now.’
Later on, my supervisor phoned me, excitedly sharing that an exceptional offer was imminent regarding this project. They handed me the script and after reading a few pages, I exclaimed, “Wow, this is clearly a positive response.” Indeed, it was a definite yes from the start. By the fifth page of the script, I knew I had no choice but to accept the opportunity.
Will Grant Gustin (Amell) put on his superhero costume again? That’s something that depends on fans, as they appear to hold the fate of the series Heels in their hands. Keep an eye out for updates on a potential Season 3 when more information comes our way. In the meantime, catch Heels on Netflix starting September 15, and watch Grant Gustin’s full interview with Vliet here below.
