The male cast of 1923 love to swarm Harrison Ford on set, Helen Mirren said this week.
Ford and Mirren play spouses Cara and Jacon Dutton in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone spinoff, titled 1923, which serves as a prequel to the initial series and a sequel to 1883. The second season of this show premiered on Sunday.

Mirren praised Harrison Ford, saying he’s always kind to everyone on the set of ‘1923.’ She described him as down-to-earth, using a British term ‘blokes,’ which refers to an ordinary man. According to her, all the other men on the set admire him greatly, and rightly so.
Mirren remarked that often, the cast endures working in chilly conditions on set, seated on quirky, somewhat awkward chairs. It seems that everyone tends to congregate near Harrison because they simply enjoy being in his presence, I believe.
As a devoted admirer, I follow in Mirren’s footsteps. Not only does she shower her fellow actors with kind words, but she also praises Harrison Ford. Unlike some stars who retreat to their trailers, she shared that Harrison isn’t one of them. “He’s not the type to disappear,” she mentioned. “I don’t recall him ever going to his trailer, and we often spend our time together on set.
In an intriguing part of the conversation, I found myself expressing admiration for Mirren, saying she’s “the kind of actress we old-timers would call a ‘broad,’ and I mean that as a compliment, like a respectful term for a dame.
He explained, “This implies she’s a woman who can comfortably socialize with men, not just accompany them as a lady would, but truly join in. She’s an authentic, cool woman.
Also this week, Ford told The Hollywood Reporter that he’s always loved the Western genre.
Ford expressed his affection for the tangible aspect of the narrative, the real-world feel of the storytelling, as well as being immersed in authentic environments. He mentioned that it’s largely traditional filmmaking, with minimal or no computer-generated imagery (CGI), just a touch to enhance the location. Essentially, he enjoys working with this kind of raw, traditional storytelling material.
