Under its new defense branch, Hennessey Defense Systems (HDS), Hennessey – famed for its hypercars and high-performance vehicles – has unveiled plans to debut its inaugural light combat vehicle, the WARHAWK.
Mainly crafted for use by the military and law enforcement agencies, the WARHAWK is constructed upon the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon base, featuring a streamlined, agile design that excels in Special Operations and SWAT team deployments. HDS outfits this vehicle with versatile modular components, enabling it to be tailored for transporting supplies, weapons, or medical gear. Other enhancements include armor for the drivetrain, off-road run-flat tires, attachment points for weapon systems, and a stealth mode for covert operations. The fuel system is adjustable to operate on diesel or kerosene fuels, thereby increasing adaptability in combat scenarios.
According to John Hennessey, founder and CEO, the WARHAWK is designed based on the demands of skilled combatants who need a swift, dependable, and multifunctional attack vehicle for tough terrains. He also mentioned that they are honored to apply their extensive knowledge in top-tier vehicles to the defense industry.
The standard 3.6L V6 engine generates 285 horsepower, capable of carrying a 1,200-pound load and pulling up to 4,500 pounds. Hennessey Defense Systems intends to cater to the needs of defense, emergency services, and private sectors through the WARHAWK’s robust and versatile design.
Hennessey is expanding into the defense sector, broadening its product line which encompasses the VelociRaptor, Mammoth 6×6, and Venom F5 hypercar. For those intrigued, more information on the WARHAWK and the latest HDS division can be found on the brand’s official website.
