Hera Pheri: Will Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty starrer cult comedy re-release on big screens? Producer Firoz A. Nadiadwallah REVEALS

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but express my excitement! The legendary comedy “Hera Pheri,” featuring the inimitable trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty, is undeniably one of Bollywood’s most revered cult-classics. This iconic film, which first graced our screens 25 years ago on January 31, is now set to celebrate its silver jubilee!

In the spirit of nostalgia and anticipation, producer Firoz A. Nadiadwallah has recently hinted at a potential re-release. Could this mean a second chance to relive the hilarious antics of Babu Rao, Raju, and Shyam? Only time will tell!

During an interview with Bollywood Hungama, producer Firoz A. Nadiadwallah was questioned about the possibility of re-releasing the popular movie “Hera Pheri” in cinemas due to its devoted fanbase.

In response to this matter, he expressed, “I won’t make this decision on my own. While I hold the legal ownership of the movie, Akshay, Paresh, and Suniel are just as much a part of it, morally speaking (smiling). So, we’ll make this decision collectively.” He also shared his confidence that whenever they decide to re-release it, the comedy film will create quite a stir at the box office.

Nadiadwala pointed out an interesting observation: 19 years have passed since Phir Hera Pheri (2006) and 25 years since the original Hera Pheri was released. Yet, they didn’t intentionally or financially work towards keeping these films relevant. “It just happened on its own!” he explained further.

The films “Hera Pheri” and its sequel “Phir Hera Pheri” have gained a legendary status within the realm of internet memes. In response to this, Nadiadwallah acknowledged writer Neeraj Vora for the innocence he infused into his clever and amusing dialogue. He underscored the lesson he learned from him: not only what one says matters, but how one says it is equally significant.

The seasoned producer reminisced about Vora’s meticulous on-set presence, often found seated in a casual attire of shorts and a t-shirt. He admitted that if the actors didn’t meet his expectations, he wouldn’t hesitate to step in and sternly question their performance. When the actors defended themselves by stating they were just reading the scripted lines, Vora would guide them on how to deliver the dialogue effectively.

Nadiadwala revealed that the writer held complete authority over each shot, and no take would be approved unless it was sanctioned by Neeraj.

Just a few months ago, it was confirmed that Priyadarshan is working on Hera Pheri 3, featuring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty.
