Hexagate and eOracle launch Gate Protocol Security Oracle

As a seasoned crypto investor with years of experience in the DeFi space, I’ve seen my fair share of projects that have prioritized functionality over security or vice versa. This balance is crucial in building user trust and maintaining a strong reputation. With Hexagate’s introduction of The Gate Security Oracle on the eOracle stack, we are witnessing the first decentralized ML-based security protocol, which is a game-changer.


Hexagate recently unveiled The Gate Security Oracle, built using the eOracle stack, which is the leading antivirus solution on EigenLayer.

This milestone signifies the debut of a decentralized security protocol that employs machine learning for the first time.

In the realm of Decentralized Finance (DeFi), reliability and safety are paramount. Some initiatives have forfeited the essence of decentralization to prioritize functionality and security, which frequently necessitates extensive reliance on external data. However, this approach can lead to compromised security and difficulties in fostering user trust and credibility.

EigenLayer’s Actively Validated Services (AVS) offer a solution to this problem by leveraging the security of over $x billion worth of staked Ethereum (ETH), ensured through the re-staking protocol. This allows projects to sidestep the dilemma between centralization and security.

In contrast to other popular AVS (Automated Verifiable Systems) protocols, eOracle relies on staked Ethereum being restaked to ensure the security of its interconnected oracle systems. This approach is reinforced by a sizeable security fund.

Etherium Oracle boasts a substantial stake of over $5 billion in ETH, backed by approximately 120,000 stakers and over 110 validators dispersed globally, positioning it as a robust and dependable crypto oracle solution.

As a crypto investor, I would describe it like this: The Gate Protocol Security Oracle, created by Hexagate using the eOracle infrastructure, employs the Oracle Validated Service (OVS) model in partnership. This collaboration allows me to integrate Hexagate’s advanced machine learning models into my on-chain protocols for enhanced security against hacks and threats. Effectively, it acts as a ‘DeFi Firewall,’ protecting my investments from potential harm by mitigating risks before any damage occurs.

Modularity

Blockchains can benefit from the added flexibility provided by OVSs (Off-Chain Verification Systems). These systems enable quick connections and enhanced computational power, which are crucial requirements for complex infrastructure projects.

Matan Si, the founder of eOracle, shared that their initial intention when creating eOracle was to closely adhere to Justin Drake and Vitalik Buterin’s Oracle proposal within Ethereum. However, they subsequently discovered that while Ethereum offers a robust architecture, it presents impractical solutions for several applications.

I explained that I developed eOracle with a focus on handling intensive computations and ensuring swift connections. Leveraging Ethereum validators and their staked ETH, we established a collective security system. This foundation sets the stage for future modular advancements that transcend blockchain technology and delve into middleware.
