For those who frequently tune into HGTV, Christina from popular shows such as “Flip or Flop,” “Christina on the Coast,” and her upcoming series “The Flip Off” is a well-known figure. Over time, it’s been challenging to follow her changing surname due to her use of different last names like Haack (her maiden name), El Moussa (her former husband’s surname), Anstead, and Hall. However, Christina has now provided some clarity to this ongoing name game, as she has definitively revealed her current last name.
Christina is currently starring on The Flip Off (available to stream with a Max subscription) with her first ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife Heather Rae. Josh Hall was supposed to team up with his wife Christina in competition against the El Moussas, but as is shown in the premiere episode, the relationship ended and the Halls filed for divorce. This prompted Tarek to hilariously question how his ex-wife would now like to be identified during a recent interview with ET. The exchange went something like this:
- Tarek: Do you go by El Moussa, Hall, Haack or Anstead?
- Christina: Haack.
- Tarek: OK, so you’re back to the original.
- Christina: I haven’t been a Haack since ‘08! It’s back to stay.
- Tarek: OK, we’ll see.
The back-and-forth arguments between Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa remain constant, much like certain unchanging aspects of life. When El Moussa expressed doubt about the permanence of her return to her maiden name, Haack firmly disagreed.
I changed it at the Social Security office. Do you know how much work that is?
I mean, she’s got a point. If a government office is involved, she definitely means business.
It appears that Christina Haack may have legally changed her surname to Hall for the first time since her initial marriage, as this was an issue that Josh Hall had expressed some discomfort with when they first met. Later, without much fanfare, she updated her last name on social media platforms to reflect the change. This is what she shared:
At the time I first encountered Josh, my name as it appeared everywhere was Christina El Moussa. However, Josh disliked this and strongly advocated for me to adopt the surname “Hall” instead.
Prior to the recent production, there was a hint of what followed as Josh Hall opted out – an instance we observed. This situation led to Christina’s husband clarifying her surname confusion, emphasizing, “You are now a Hall,” and expressing his displeasure by stating that she was upsetting him.
Besides her birth surname, Christina adopted not only Tarek’s and Josh’s names during their marriages but also Ant Anstead’s for the span of their two-year union.
I’d like to express my gratitude to Tarek for his persistent inquiries that unraveled the puzzle about Christina’s surname. Although she is without a partner in the contest, fans were not disheartened by Josh Hall’s departure, and it has been quite endearing to witness the affection the El Moussas harbor towards Christina.
To catch the exciting competition unfolding between the El Moussas and Christina Haack, don’t miss out on the latest episodes of “The Flip Off” every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET, only on HGTV. And if you miss the live telecast, you can stream it the next day on Max!
