As a gamer with a knack for DIY projects and a penchant for binge-watching home renovation shows, I can wholeheartedly relate to Anthony Anderson’s “shriek” moment on Celebrity IOU. There have been times when my own fingers have felt the wrath of an unexpected hammer or a careless saw, leaving me with a heart-stopping jolt and a dash of adrenaline that would make any action hero proud.
When working on home projects yourself, there’s always a chance of getting injured, especially if you don’t do it often. This is why, during their remodeling projects on HGTV’s Celebrity IOU, Drew and Jonathan Scott occasionally experience accidents. Recently, they even joked about Anthony Anderson’s scream when he got hurt while filming the show.
What Did Drew And Jonathan Scott Say About Anthony Anderson’s Reaction To Hurting Himself On Celebrity IOU?
Drew and Jonathan Scott have become widely recognized for various reasons, such as their witty humor that earned them a humorous appearance on the show Girls5Eva. However, it’s quite plausible that they wouldn’t have achieved their current success without the massive popularity of their HGTV hit, Property Brothers, which almost had a completely different name in renovation. This successful series has given rise to several spinoffs, including the latest season of Celebrity IOU.
In general, most renovation projects have proceeded smoothly, save for a minor incident involving Michael Bublé’s medical scan post-demolition. This might be due to the assistance provided by celebrities who are renovating properties for their loved ones. However, during an interview with TV Insider, it was mentioned that Anthony Anderson, star of ‘black-ish’, suffered a minor injury in Season 4. The topic under discussion was whether celebrities have ever hesitated to perform tasks potentially hazardous. When asked if they had ever encountered such reluctance, Drew replied negatively, stating that safety is always prioritized, which is why the celebrities trust their team. Jonathan then added:
A medical professional is available on-site should any problems arise. So far, touch wood, we’ve only experienced a single injury incident. Anthony Anderson accidentally pinched his finger while installing hardwood floors. The board he struck caused his finger to be sandwiched between two boards. Consequently, there was profuse bleeding. It was quite a distressing sound when he let out that shriek.
Despite the shock and likely sight of some of his own blood that the ex-contestant from The Masked Singer might have experienced, it’s clear Drew and Jonathan aren’t mean-spirited individuals (after all, who wouldn’t appreciate Jonathan’s themed Scottish proposal to Zooey Deschanel?). Given their friendly nature, they felt comfortable making light of Anderson’s situation since everything eventually turned out well. Granted, I can imagine that even a humorous actor like Anderson himself might find it amusing now, but initially, his reaction—a worried “shriek”—was understandable.
Of Course Halle Berry Was Totally Badass On Demo Day With The Property Brothers
In the past, I experienced an unexpected gardening mishap where the sharp blades of some scissors accidentally cut my inner arm, which is usually quite sensitive. Although I didn’t shout out in shock, I could feel a sense of unease and dizziness wash over me as I noticed the wound filling with blood. Consequently, I tend to have strong reactions when injuries seem minor compared to what I’ve experienced before, as Drew also mentioned.
You would have thought he cut an arm off the way he reacted. It was quite funny.
Indeed, sometimes accidents happen unexpectedly, leaving you surprised and possibly injured, as was the case with Anderson. Fortunately, he turned out to be fine in the end. Unlike some guests on Celebrity IOU who often shed tears, Anderson’s emotional state was not affected for an entirely different reason. You can catch his episode with a Max subscription.
