‘High Potential’ Renewed for Second Season on ABC

Following a successful run during the first half of the season, ABC’s show “High Potential” has been renewed for a second term.

As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled to share that my favorite show, “High Potential,” starring Kaitlin Olson, has been given another season for 2025-26! This drama has been a game-changer for ABC, scoring high among the top new series of 2024-25 and attracting impressive streaming numbers, in addition to its viewership ratings on air. I can’t wait to continue this exciting journey with the show!

As a gamer, I’ve got to say I was blown away by the viewership numbers for this new series! The first two episodes averaged over 10 million viewers across all platforms within a week, and streaming accounted for more than one-third of that total. Even more impressive, ABC reports that the audience for the pilot episode has surged to over 30 million in the past four months since its debut. Talk about a gaming community gathering around a hit show!

Since shifting to 9 p.m. Tuesdays earlier this month, High Potential has seen a significant increase in viewership, with an average of 5.74 million same-day viewers compared to just 3.48 million at the later time last fall. The episode on January 7 reached a series peak of 12.9 million viewers across all platforms within a week.

High Potential is the second ABC show to score a renewal on Tuesday, following Abbott Elementary.

In the series “High Potential,” Olson shares screen time with Daniel Sunjata, Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J, Matthew Lamb and Judy Reyes. This show was created by Drew Goddard and executive produced along with his partner Sarah Esberg from Goddard Textiles, as well as Todd Harthan who serves as the showrunner. Olson holds a producer role in this production, with Disney’s 20th Television serving as the studio behind it.
