As a gamer with a heart for TV shows and a deep appreciation for female empowerment, I am thrilled to see Hilarie Burton Morgan stepping back into the world of One Tree Hill. Her passion for working with a team of women and her desire to tell stories from a female perspective resonates deeply with me, not just as a viewer, but as someone who believes in the power of representation and collaboration.
Hilarie Burton Morgan is playfully hinting at the upcoming sequel of “One Tree Hill” and sharing that so far, it’s been more enjoyable for her to collaborate with a female-dominated crew, as opposed to the earlier series.
The actress has shared some insights with People magazine regarding their upcoming Netflix series, where she will reappear alongside Sophia Bush.
Burton Morgan expressed that, for this project specifically, it’s significant for him to collaborate with a group of women and explore the narratives and characters from a feminine perspective. Regardless of whether he’s working on a remake, original production, or another film at this stage in his career, female collaboration is crucial to him.
She mentioned that the sequel is at the heart of everything successful she’s achieved. As a result, she’s thrilled to work alongside individuals she admire and care deeply for.
Halleiluiah! Chabon Morgan, famed for portraying Peyton Sawyer across six seasons on the beloved teen drama airing from 2003 to 2012, expressed a desire for the upcoming revival to incorporate tales reflective of her present life-stage. She emphasized that these narratives would be drastically distinct compared to those experienced when she was just starting out at twenty.
Last month, it was announced that a follow-up series for Netflix is on its way, seven years since Burton Morgan, Bush, and others from the cast and crew of “One Tree Hill” claimed show creator Mark Schwahn had sexually harassed them. To this day, Schwahn has not publicly acknowledged these allegations, but he was dismissed as the showrunner of E!’s “The Royals” in 2017.
Besides Danneel Ackles, Burton Morgan and Bush are taking on additional roles as executive producers during the remake’s production.
