Himesh Reshammiya is all set to thrill fans with his upcoming action drama titled Badass Ravi Kumar. This movie has been generating buzz for several reasons, such as its ’80s aesthetic and lively atmosphere, not to mention the catchy music it promises. A recent intriguing piece of news disclosed that the multi-talented artist, Himesh Reshammiya, graciously waived his fees for the film, playing a crucial role in covering the movie’s budget of approximately Rs. 20 crores before its premiere.
Thanks to shrewd financial management, clever deals, and a substantial input from Reshammiya, the production budget for this project has been successfully recouped. The main actor, who is also responsible for composing and performing the music in this film, opted for a profit-sharing agreement rather than receiving payment for his acting and musical contributions. Instead, he will share in the profits with the production company.
Ravi Kumar’s impressive album, Badass, boasts 16 tracks, among them a collection of seven songs, which were all produced through his record label, Himesh Reshammiya Melodies. This has substantially boosted the commercial worth of the project. Although it exudes a nostalgic charm and was filmed in various international locations, the film’s production was executed economically due to meticulous planning that spanned over a year, thereby avoiding unnecessary expenditure or waste.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share an interesting insight about this film. The creators have strategically chosen to finance the production costs through sales of music rights and subsidies from Oman, where it was filmed. This means that any income generated from box office, digital releases, or satellite broadcasts will serve as a bonus profit for the movie.
The movie titled “Badass Ravi Kumar” is a throwback to the 1980s, as suggested by its tagline, “A Movie Like the ’80s.” This suggests that viewers will be treated to a nostalgic cinema journey reminiscent of that era. Additionally, it draws inspiration from the grandeur style of filmmakers such as Feroz Khan and Rajiv Rai.
As a dedicated follower, I’m sharing some insights from Tera Suroor’s singer himself. He openly confessed that he didn’t demand any payment for his acting, singing, or composing roles in the film – a total of 16 songs! He was quite open about the financial aspects of our project and expressed satisfaction with the final outcome. Wishing for nothing but the best results!
If you haven’t heard, Himesh Reshammiya’s music career has been exceptionally prosperous. Out of the approximately 2300 hit songs he’s created, a whopping 1300 of them have been released under his own record label, earning over 21 billion views on YouTube and more than 11 billion audio streams in the last 3 years alone. This incredible success has sparked great excitement for Badass Ravi Kumar‘s upcoming soundtrack.
Today marks the debut of the movie trailer, specifically on January 5th. On a future note, the action-packed film starring Badass Ravi Kumar is slated for a grand theater premiere on February 7, 2025.
