Hollywood Climate Summit Adds ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Conversation to Lineup

Before the premiere of “Jurassic World Rebirth”, the film’s creators will delve into the scientific and ecological implications of their work at the Hollywood Climate Summit.

The upcoming three-day conference, scheduled from June 2nd to June 4th at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, includes a special session titled “A New Era Begins: Behind the Making of Jurassic World Rebirth” on June 3rd. In this session, Patrick Crowley, producer of Rebirth, and cast member Audrina Miranda will discuss with paleontologist Dr. Nathan Smith, director of the Dinosaur Institute at the L.A. Natural History Museum, about how the franchise has influenced generations of scientists while focusing on the production’s green initiatives such as beach and ocean “ghost net” cleanups, sponsored by NBCUniversal.

In Jurassic World Rebirth, Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo take center stage. This movie is set on a research facility island that’s a continuation of the original Jurassic Park. The plot revolves around a team trying to gather genetic material from dinosaurs, which could potentially save human lives. The film hits theaters on July 2.

On Monday, it was revealed that Alexis Nikole Nelson (forager, educator), Joey Bragg, Simone Missick, and Mary Powell (CEO of Sunrun) would be added to the list of speakers at the Hollywood Climate Summit. The roster of individuals who were already scheduled to participate includes cast members from Grey’s Anatomy, Tarriona “Tank” Ball, Ashly Burch, Adam Conover, Tig Notaro, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Patrisse Cullors.

Over the course of its initial two days, the event will be orchestrated by climate comedians Esteban Gast and Rasheda Crockett. During this period, you can expect a completely plant-based menu to be served, while we showcase vendors who are leading the charge in sustainable manufacturing practices.
