The American store, Hollywood Ranch Market, which is based in Japan, has teamed up with Yohji Yamamoto’s offshoot brand, Wildside, to launch a new collection that draws on the design principles of traditional French workwear and its Chinese cultural impacts.
The star piece of this collection is a stylish French work jacket, featuring Chinese knot-style buttons, that beautifully combines traditional and contemporary fashion trends. Notable features include a curved neckline, snap-button cuffs, double waist pockets, and an expanded placket with vertical seams. The entire outfit, including the jacket and coordinating pants, is crafted from Yamamoto’s TC cotton twill fabric. Remarkably, the pants can be converted into shorts by simply detaching the lower sections of the legs.
The set is completed by two bags: one compact phone sling suitable for a personal device and small accessories, and a larger tote bag featuring a black-on-black design. Lastly, a long-sleeve t-shirt crafted from Stretch Fraise fabric produced by Seilin & Co finishes off the selection.
Customers have until January 9 to place their pre-orders online. The collaboration between Hollywood Ranch Market and Yohji Yamamoto’s Wildside line, set to be released globally on January 15 via both brands’ websites, will also be available in Hollywood Ranch Market Tokyo, Yohji Yamamoto Osaka, and Harajuku stores starting from that date.
