For more than a decade, Geller immersed himself in studying the film, working together with historians, the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Center in Jerusalem, as well as the relatives of Weiner and Podchlebnik.

In addition, the cast includes Charlie MacGechan (from Pennyworth), Michael Epp (The Brutalist), David Kross (The Reader), Michael Fox (Downton Abbey), and Anton Lesser (known for Andor and Game of Thrones).
