As a devoted fan of Issey Miyake’s HOMME PLISSÉ line, I was absolutely thrilled to learn about their latest Autumn/Winter 2024 collection titled “Immersed in the Wilds of Creativity.” The collaboration between ISSEY MIYAKE and designer/artist Ronan Bouroullec is a true testament to the limitless possibilities of fashion and art.
Issey Miyake’s Homme Plissé label unveiled its Autumn-Winter 2024 collection, titled “Creative Immersion with Ronan Bouroullec.” This collaboration between the renowned designer duo brings a fresh perspective to ISsey Miyake’s fashion, showcasing innovative applications of Bouroullec’s artistic vision in clothing design.
The RB_DRAWING PLEATS collection adapts Bouroullec’s “Drawing” series for the brand by applying it to their signature pleated fabric. In these garments, the blank spaces of the artwork serve as the foundation, with the drawings acting as prints. The pleated ensembles maintain the brand’s iconic style with their flowing, unconventional silhouettes.
The RB_DRAWING COAT by Bouroullec bears his distinctive paintings, meticulously applied through silkscreen printing. The collection includes both a coat and a poncho design, each showcasing unique artwork. Both styles exhibit a minimalistic aesthetic with an enlarged shape and lopsided openings.
As a gamer, I would describe it like this: This RB_DRAWING PRESS SHIRT collection is something really unique for me as a gamer. The artwork by Bouroullec that adorns these pieces isn’t just slapped on there; instead, it’s infused using pressurizing and heating techniques. I have a white button-down shirt with an unconventional painting on it, and a zip-up jacket boasting another distinctive piece. A pleated scarf in vibrant colors completes the look, adding a splash of excitement to my gaming outfit.
Starting August 5, the initial set of products from our Autumn/Winter 2024/25 collaboration will be available. Additional items will be rolled out in October and November 2024. Feel free to check out the entire collection displayed above.
