Honor of Kings returns for the 2025 Esports World Cup with a whopping $3 million prize pool

2025’s Esports World Cup promises to be a milestone for mobile gaming competitions. As PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang have already confirmed their participation, the upcoming clash in Riyadh boasts an impressive lineup of elite players and substantial rewards. Now, Honor of Kings is adding to the excitement with its grand entry.

Under a three-year agreement with EWC, the Honor of Kings World Cup will make its comeback boasting a $3 million prize fund and a broader tournament format. This enlarged setup invites more teams and promises more thrilling gameplay. The competition gets underway on July 15th, concluding on the 26th, showcasing 18 squads hailing from various regions worldwide, including heavyweights from the King Pro League and Asian Champions League.

16 teams kick off the tournament divided into four double-elimination brackets during the Group Stage. The top team from each group advances straight to the Playoffs, whereas the runner-ups move on to a Last Chance bracket in their quest for the last two playoff spots.

In these rounds, games will be played as either best-of-three or best-of-five series, leading up to the Playoffs where both KPL and ACL champions will be ready for battle. The grand finale, scheduled for August 16th, will employ a best-of-seven tournament bracket, with a third-place match also planned.
