As a longtime Fox News viewer and avid gamer, I’ve always kept up with the latest developments at my favorite network. And boy, has there been some drama lately! The recent encounter between Tucker Carlson and Rupert Murdoch at the Republican National Convention was a wild turn of events.
At the Trade Hotel in Milwaukee during the Republican National Convention, Tucker Carlson and his former boss Rupert Murdoch came close to crossing paths on Wednesday. According to our sources at Hot Source, this potentially uncomfortable encounter was avoided when Murdoch’s aides swiftly created a human shield around their boss, preventing Carlson from reaching him as they passed each other.
I’ve followed Carlson’s career at Fox quite closely over the years, and I must admit, his sudden departure from the network in April 2023 came as a surprise to many of us. The Dominion Voting System lawsuit, which resulted in a hefty $787 million damages payout for the network, was undoubtedly a significant blow to Fox’s reputation.
It’s no wonder that Carlson made unexpected appearances at the RNC, acting almost vengefully against the Murdochs. He showed up unsolicited at Fox’s studio within the convention hall as a guest of Donald Trump Jr., causing displeasure among network officials.
“According to an executive at Hot Source, Tucker is determined to soil Fox’s reputation. However, everyone else seems to have moved past this issue, leaving Tucker behind in his persistence.”
Adds another Fox source, “He’s been acting like a frat boy.”
Relations between Trump Jr. and Fox News are also said to be somewhat strained, although there appears to be at least some mending. At a lunch at the Trade Hotel hosted by Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott and President Jay Wallace and attended by the network’s political analysts Brit Hume, Karl Rove, Kellyanne Conway and Charlie Hurt, Trump Jr. was waved over to the table for what sources say was a “pleasant exchange” with Scott. Earlier in the week, Trump Jr. had told Axios that he had been “banned” from Fox airwaves (a claim Fox denies).
As someone who has followed politics closely for many years, I’ve noticed some interesting dynamics between certain powerful figures in media and politics. One such relationship that stands out is the apparent friendship between Donald Trump Sr. and Rupert Murdoch.
Regarding Carlson, his contract with Fox is still in effect until the end of the year. Fox could prevent him from appearing on other shows, but they have decided not to exercise this option. Recently, Carlson has been hosting interviews on X with notable figures such as Vladimir Putin, Alex Jones, and Steve Bannon. Additionally, his relationship with the Trump family, particularly Donald Sr., is reportedly stronger than ever. Carlson delivered a significant speech at the convention on Thursday night.
More recently, Carlson admitted to the Times that he hadn’t conversed with the ex-president regarding his infamous comments about Trump (“I deeply despise him,” Carlson had texted, which were made public during the Dominion trial).
“I got pissed at Trump,” he told the Times. “So? I get pissed at my wife. I’m a human being.”
