As a longtime enthusiast of both Hot Wheels and Aston Martin, this latest collaboration between these two iconic brands has left me utterly thrilled! The DB4GT “High-Speed Edition” is a perfect blend of timeless elegance and adrenaline-pumping design, a testament to the spirit of land speed racing that I’ve admired since my childhood days racing my Hot Wheels cars on the kitchen floor.
Partnering together, Hot Wheels and Aston Martin introduce an exceptional reinterpretation of the legendary Aston Martin DB4GT – the “Race Speed Edition.” This 1:64 scale die-cast model embodies the exhilarating essence of land speed competitions.
Designed by a team that includes Miles Nurnberger, Thomas Gilbert from Aston Martin, and Craig Callum of Hot Wheels, this model combines the classic allure of the DB4GT with design cues inspired by historic racing cars. The redesign features a bold front spoiler, shortened roof, extended bodywork, and custom-made wheels. The racetrack-inspired paint job honors legendary land speed vehicles, connecting this miniature model to the rich history of motorsports.
According to Craig Callum, Design Manager at Hot Wheels, they aimed to breathe a Hot Wheels-inspired makeover into an iconic Aston Martin. This collaboration is reminiscent of the “Bonneville” theme, mirroring the DB4GT’s historical racing days on the Bonneville Salt Flats in the 1960s, where it participated in speed trials.
The “Hot Wheels” replicas and the special “High-Speed Edition” of Aston Martin’s DB4GT are currently on sale at authorized dealers nationwide in the United States.
