As a critic who has seen the rise and fall of many a television series, I must say it’s refreshing to see a show like House of the Dragon that knows when to call it quits. Just like a good wine, some stories are best enjoyed in moderation, and this prequel seems to understand that principle perfectly.
I’m thrilled to announce that after four seasons, I’ll gracefully bow out. This news is music to my ears for the Game of Thrones prequel, as it wisely chooses to depart while everyone seems to be having a fantastic time. It’s always wise to leave a party early, before the guests start to lose interest. Kudos to them!
In a press gathering about the final episode of Season 2 (reported by Variety), House of the Dragon’s showrunner and co-creator Ryan Condal announced that the series will conclude after Season 4. As per Condal, the writers are presently crafting scripts for Season 3, which is tentatively set to initiate filming “early next year” in 2025.
