In a recent interview, Sharma discussed her time on the comedy-drama set and detailed her transition from television to film.
In an exclusive interview with India Today Digital, Soundarya openly reminisced about dancing to tunes from the 2010 movie Housefull and expressed her joy over becoming a part of the series now. She enthusiastically spoke about her upcoming role in the film, describing it as an “amazing” experience.
Soundarya pointed out that everyone on the set was “friendly and outstanding.” She added that, being the youngest member, she experienced a particularly warm welcome, which made her time there a genuinely touching experience for her.
Speaking about Akshay Kumar, known for his playful and trickster-like behavior, Soundarya commented on his fondness for practical jokes.
She confessed that she frequently becomes the center of online trolling, expressing, “It’s already begun, and while I wouldn’t call it terrible, it’s certainly strange. Yet, the amusement gives it a festive atmosphere, almost like a picnic for me. Akshay sir is incredibly kind.
Speaking about her fellow actors, she mentioned, “Jackie is incredibly kind-hearted. Everyone is delightful. Abhishek caught me off guard with his playful side. Riteish sir is adorable. Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa, and everyone else have been fantastic. What truly took me by surprise was Chunky Pandey; he’s even friendlier than you might think. I merely want to highlight that I am the unexpected gem!
Soundarya Sharma mentions that even though she doesn’t have a well-connected figure in the entertainment industry, she views Wardha Khan Nadiadwala as her “industry guardian angel.” Looking back on how she got the part in Housefull 5, Soundarya acknowledges her appreciation for Wardha, giving credit to her for having faith in her talents.
She pointed out that although participating in Bigg Boss or starring in ads can increase visibility, such opportunities usually don’t translate into mainline film roles.
She mentioned that, from what she understood, it’s uncommon for contestants or actors to land lead roles straight after appearing on reality shows. Instead, it often requires time and is relatively infrequent.
Speaking about her initial response upon receiving the offer for Housefull 5, Soundarya expressed, “I was tearful and trembling. When asked to sign the contract at home, I momentarily forgot how to affix my signature.
Sharma went on to say, “She’s more than just a friend, and we’ve talked about my ads, watched each other on Bigg Boss, and even worked out together. Yet, for her to trust me and think ‘She’s perfect for the movie,’ shows great faith.
As I found myself stepping into the vibrant world of Housefull 5, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of destiny guiding my steps. Opportunities like this often seem to come from blessings, and I firmly believe in the role that fate plays in our lives. However, I also recognize that talent is an essential tool for seizing such opportunities and making them a reality.
