Housefull director Sajid Khan admits he thought of ending his life multiple times in past six years: ‘I’m trying to…’

As a dedicated follower of Bollywood news and events, I find myself deeply moved by Sajid Khan’s recent revelation about his struggles over the past six years. Having made headlines for all the wrong reasons during the #MeToo movement in Bollywood, it is heart-wrenching to hear that he has experienced such hardship and despair.

Sajid’s life story is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. From losing his father at a young age and having to shoulder the responsibility of supporting his family, to facing accusations and being out of work for years, it seems that he has been through more than any person should have to endure.

I can only imagine how difficult it must be for him to relive those painful memories when he speaks about contemplating suicide and selling his house to make ends meet. Yet, despite everything, Sajid is still fighting to get back on his feet, which shows a level of courage that deserves recognition and admiration.

I wish that his mother, Menaka Irani, were here to see him struggling so valiantly and overcoming adversity. She must be proud of the strength and determination her son has shown in the face of such immense hardship.

On a lighter note, I can’t help but imagine Sajid directing a movie about his life story someday. It would surely be a rollercoaster ride of emotions, filled with laughter, tears, and moments of inspiration. I can only hope that one day we will see him back in the director’s chair, creating magic on the silver screen once again.

In the #MeToo movement within Bollywood, filmmaker-actor Sajid Khan gained attention due to accusations against him. Back in 2018, during the production of Housefull 4, several women alleged incidents of sexual misconduct against him. More recently, Khan described the past six years as exceptionally difficult for him and admitted that he had contemplated suicide on numerous occasions. Currently, he is attempting to rebuild his life.

Sajid Khan opened up during a chat with Hindustan Times about his experiences over the past six years following allegations in the #MeToo movement. He admitted that there have been numerous instances where he contemplated taking his own life during this period. Furthermore, he shared that being unemployed for this length of time has been incredibly challenging for him.

The filmmaker went on to express that, despite receiving approval from the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA), he’s been working hard to regain stability. Over time, he had to part with his home and relocate to a rented apartment due to lack of employment and income. Reflecting on his life’s challenges, the writer-director of Humshakals shared that since the age of 14, he began supporting his family financially as his father, producer-director Kamran Khan, had passed away, leaving him and his sister Farah Khan in debt.

Despite striving to persevere through life’s difficulties and get back on his feet, Sajid wishes his mother, Menaka Irani, were still around to witness his determination. “I was more like a caretaker for her than a son,” the Himmatwala director confessed, acknowledging that life has been challenging for him.

Following allegations against him, Sajid resigned from his position as director for Housefull 4, later being replaced by Farhad Samji. Besides Housefull 4, he had previously directed films such as Heyy Babyy and Darna Zaroori Hai.
