As a movie enthusiast who has been fortunate enough to witness the meteoric rise of Chloe East, I can confidently say that her journey is nothing short of inspiring. From her humble beginnings to gracing our screens as a lead actress in A24’s upcoming horror masterpiece, “Heretic,” she has proven time and again that she’s not just another pretty face in Hollywood.
It’s common knowledge now that when you watch a film from A24, you’re in store for an exceptional, unique experience. Their latest offering, “Heretic,” is no different and has been highly acclaimed as one of their top horror movies. Notably, it’s among the most anticipated releases on our 2024 movie schedule. It’s wonderful to learn that the cast members, including Chloe East, are treated like superstars behind the scenes, she herself confirmed this.
Prior to the premiere of the film, the actress sat down for a chat with The Hollywood Reporter. As it turned out, this was her debut as the main character, and the experience wasn’t drastically different from what she’d known before, save for the exceptional hospitality offered by the independent production company. She mentioned that they had set up a personal fridge filled with Yerba Mate, provided a driver who took her to and from the set every day (something new to her), and even brought a Taco Bell food truck after learning about her fondness for the fast-food chain.
While these factors certainly made her work experience more pleasurable, she admitted that she doesn’t want to grow accustomed to them in a work setting.)
As a lead role, such perks might alleviate some stress and enhance the experience, but rest assured, I don’t desire to be pampered excessively, like a royal.
At 23, I find it quite remarkable when someone like herself carries such an established outlook. As an alum of The Fabelmans, she’s admitted that she tends to think little success will stem from each new project she takes on. However, with every larger job, she’s been shown otherwise. It’s a humbling and practical mindset for someone starting their journey in Hollywood.
The movie titled “Heretic” will be released on November 8th, joining the list of upcoming films from A24. Our 2025 release schedule also includes several other titles. This horror film focuses on two missionaries, East and Sophie Thatcher (known for their roles in “Yellowjackets”), who encounter a seemingly benevolent Mr. Reed, portrayed by Hugh Grant. However, things take a sinister turn as he deceives them, trapping them in a chilling game of cat and mouse. Critics have already labeled Grant’s performance as “terrifying,” so brace yourselves! It’s also worth noting that they had a Taco Bell truck on set for convenience.
East’s career should not be overlooked either. With previous roles like ‘The Fabelmans’ and the series ‘Generation’, she is clearly ascending. Moreover, there are several upcoming projects featuring her, such as Netflix’s ‘No Good Deed’ and the drama ‘At the Sea’, where she portrays Amy Adams’ daughter.
In her ongoing triumph, it’s clear that even greater accomplishments lie ahead for this Ice alum. She appears fully prepared to handle whatever comes next. Meanwhile, East is focused on developing a deep connection with each character and giving her all to the role, which is truly commendable.
