For over a decade, the Marvel Cinamic Universe has ruled pop culture, treating audiences to fresh projects in theaters and through Disney+ subscriptions. The long-awaited collaboration between Deadpool and Wolverine, which generated immense excitement as the most highly anticipated Marvel film in years, has now graced the big screen and is making waves at the box office with its success. It’s only recently come to light that Deadpool 3 was rumored to involve Kang, but following Jonathan Majors’ recent dismissal from the project, the details remain unclear.
The reception to “Deadpool & Wolverine” has been extremely favorable, both critically and from fans. However, bringing this film to life took a long time, with numerous versions being proposed during its creation – from scriptwriting to production. Notably, reliable source Daniel Richtman shared an intriguing tidbit about how Kang may have been intended to make an appearance in the latest box office hit. In his own words:

In the thrilling saga of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” Mr. Paradox, portrayed by renowned actor Matthew Macfadyen from “Succession,” emerges as a major antagonist. Initially appearing benevolent, Mr. Paradox soon reveals his true colors: he’s self-serving. His intention of amassing variants to confront Kang and his troops could have potentially deceived Wade Wilson into believing he was on the side of right.
In the previous shows “Loki” and “Ant-Man 3,” Kang and his troops of variants gave strong indications of being a formidable threat. The working title for the next Avengers film was “The Kang Dynasty,” but Marvel has since changed it to “Avengers: Doomsday” and introduced RDJ’s Doctor Doom instead. With this significant shift in plans, Kang no longer plays a role in the storyline of “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
As a longtime fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I can’t help but feel intrigued by the possibility of Jonathan Majors’ character being acknowledged once more in the MCU. The credits scene of “Ant-Man and the Quantum Realm” left me in a state of excitement and apprehension, as we were introduced to an array of Kang variants.
