How F1 Fan Keanu Reeves Became the Face of Cadillac’s New Racing Docuseries (Exclusive)

Keanu Reeves is back for more.

Following the massive success of North One’s Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story on Disney+, which was presented by Reeves, up-and-coming F1 team Cadillac – who have garnered attention after securing a highly desired spot on the 2026 grid – were inspired to replicate that magic. Naturally, they aimed to include the popular A-list action star in their plans as well.

After watching the movie “Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story“, the executives at Cadillac became extremely interested in reuniting the team. Neil Duncanson, North One boss and three-time BAFTA winner, shared with The Hollywood Reporter that Keanu Reeves is on board and thinks the tale is incredibly compelling.

A new docuseries, recently reported by THR, will see Keanu Reeves serving as both host and executive producer through his KR+SH production company. With the showbiz industry riding high on the incredible success of Formula 1 (as evidenced by Brad Pitt’s movie dominating box offices worldwide), it comes as no surprise that Reeves, who has long been passionate about F1, would be involved. According to Duncanson, his interest in Formula 1 goes back decades, making it a logical choice for him to help tell the story of Brawn and the race against time by Cadillac to create a competitive car for the opening Grand Prix of the 2026 season.

As a gamer, I’d rephrase that statement like this: “Keanu Reeves and Simon Hammerson, the producer and Emmy-winning director behind Brawn, had an idea to tell Brawn’s story. However, they faced challenges getting it off the ground in the U.S. Nick Fry, the former CEO of Brawn GP who they were already in contact with, suggested reaching out to me. Interestingly, timing was crucial as Disney was searching for a British production and my project seemed to fit the bill perfectly.

Duncanson notes that while our approach with Cadillac won’t be identical, it will share some key similarities. We aimed to integrate Reeves more deeply into the story rather than having him deliver standalone segments or voiceovers. The primary focus of the Cadillac tale is immersing ourselves within the events as they unfold, offering a perspective that hasn’t been seen before.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’d say it stands out from shows like Drive to Survive because it’s all about the thrilling build-up to the Melbourne Grand Prix in March, following Cadillac as they gear up for their long-awaited debut in this ultra-exclusive sport. The main focus? Landing a couple of high-speed racers at the top of their game.

The ultimate challenge, our ultimate objective, occurs when they ignite the engine. Can they compete? Duncanson points out. They refer to it as putting a man on the moon in record time, from an engineering standpoint. To achieve this, they need the right personnel, who will serve as the drivers. They must construct the motor home, design the racing suits, choose the car color, and secure sponsors – all parts of the massive puzzle that is creating a Formula One team. You’ll get to see this process unfold from start to finish.

The show intends to attract viewers beyond dedicated F1 enthusiasts, according to Duncanson. He explains that Formula One presents a one-of-a-kind and exclusive environment. The goal is to captivate a wider range of people, and this is achieved by focusing on the personalities involved and the level of access provided.

The filming for this documentary series started approximately a month back and is set to carry on until the commencement of the 2026 season. As Duncanson talks, he’s preparing to capture footage at Silverstone, starting from the weekend of July 4, which hosts the British Grand Prix.

Duncanson notes that Cadillac is renowned globally as a symbol of luxury automobiles,” he continues, “yet it seems they’re aiming to transform their image, targeting the upcoming generation instead.

North One, being one of RedBird IMI’s prolific production houses called All3Media, shares its platform. KR&SH Productions, a documentary-centric production company established by Reeves and Hammerson, is the creator behind Brawn: The Incredible Formula 1 Story.
