In Monster Hunter Wilds, if you’re on the hunt for Sharp Fang, it likely means you’ve recently reached the Windward Plains base camp. Your goal may be to create the Chatacabra armor after defeating the large rock toad. For newcomers to the series, it’s important to note that materials for crafting armor can also be obtained from smaller monsters, and this is one such instance.
In every new area you visit, it’s usually beneficial to locate and collect the smaller creatures – quite frequently, these have unique armor sets or parts associated with them that you can discover by doing so. Regardless, let me guide you on how to acquire Sharp Fang in Monster Hunter Wilds.
When venturing into each new region, it’s often smart to search for and gather the smaller creatures – oftentimes, these possess special armor sets or parts that are linked to them, which can be uncovered through this process. Nevertheless, here is a guide on obtaining Sharp Fang in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Monster Hunter Wilds Sharp Fang location
In Windward Plains, there are two creatures you can hunt to obtain Sharp Fang: Gajios, resembling a saw-nosed crocodile, which can be found in rivers of areas 8 and 10, particularly near the base camp; or a Talioth. If you’ve recently arrived here and need Sharp Fang for crafting Chatacabra armor, these two small native monsters are your most viable choices. The Gajios is generally a more favorable choice over the Talioth.
In this scenario, the Talioth, a dinosaur resembling a raptor found in region 11, drops various items. Conversely, the Gajios, a crocodile-like creature, only drops Sharp Fang. To obtain Sharp Fang, journey from the base camp through area 7, follow the path down the cliff, and approach the herds of Ceratonoth near the river. Look for the Gajios swimming in the water, kill them if necessary, and collect as many Sharp Fangs as you require. Once you have a Sharp Fang, you can craft the Chatacabra armor set.
If you’re not in the Windward Plains, you can acquire Sharp Fang from Piragill in the Scarlet Forest or Kranodath in the Oilwell Basin, but keep in mind that both these monsters also have other drops, similar to Talioth. Generally, Sharp Fang is obtained from smaller creatures. Once you reach High Rank, these smaller creatures will drop Acute Fang as a material if needed.
