In Monster Hunter Wilds, the ominous garb known as Sinister Cloth makes a comeback, providing players with the Death Stench armor set. If your goal is to embody Death itself, you’ll need to collect at least five components of this rare crafting material. But keep in mind that obtaining it won’t be a walk in the park, as it requires some very particular trade goods.
How to get Sinister Cloth
The enigmatic item known as Sinister Cloth can be obtained exclusively through trading with Gawdygog and Kilama. These traders become accessible as you advance through the Monster Hunter Wilds campaign and additional content. Since they only carry it occasionally, you’ll need to visit them frequently to check if they have it in stock.
- Gawdygog trades 10 Ancient Wyvern Coins for 1 Sinister Cloth (trade limit 2)
- Kilama trades 1 Great Windward Aloe for 1 Sinister Cloth (trade limit 1)
To progress effectively, you’ve got two options: Either farm Ancient Wyvern Coins enough to buy two Sinister Cloth pieces or find a single Great Windward Aloe. It’s best to have them on hand when merchants restock their inventory.
To create a complete set of Death Stench A armor, you’ll require five individual pieces of the ominous Sinister Cloth. Since there are two distinct styles available for crafting, it would be wise to gather at least ten Sinister Cloth pieces to ensure you can make both sets.
Since trading restrictions don’t allow it, you can’t purchase all five items immediately. You’ll have to wait until the seller restocks, which might take some time.
Where to find Gawdygog and Kilama
In the lush Scarlet Forest, Gawdygog resides within the Hideout known as Wudwud. Meanwhile, Kilama can be found in Kunafa, a village nestled within the Windsong Village of the expansive Windward Plains. Upon completing the campaign, Nata assumes the role of Village Intermediary. This enables players to peruse the inventories of traders without needing to travel to each specific location directly.
When you gather five Sinister Cloth items, you can make your own Death Stench armor. Be cautious not to create duplicates, as this will require additional resources. For more information on where to find these materials, check out the Monster Hunter Wilds guide.
