As a seasoned Fortnite player with countless hours spent navigating the ever-evolving battle royale landscape, I can’t help but feel a thrill of excitement as the pirate-themed Cursed Sails event takes over the map. The prospect of walking the plank is an enticing one, and I’m eager to embark on this nautical adventure.
During the Pirate-themed Cursed Sails event in Fortnite, it’s inevitable that you’ll encounter tasks requiring you to “walk the plank,” so to speak. These actions are essential parts of the Pirate Code missions that players must finish.
If you want the Cursed Gold that comes along with it, learn how exactly you can walk the plank.
How to walk the plank
To reach the Black Pearl pirate ship and walk the plank, navigate to the “Shipwreck Shallows” part of the map first. Once there, locate the plank on the ship’s deck and casually stroll along it until you inevitably fall off.
The theory may seem simple, but in practice, it’s a contentious issue. This area has become a hotspot of debate following the launch of the Cursed Sails event. Consequently, many players eager to explore the new locations and take on the walk the plank challenge themselves will be flocking here.
There are two schools of thought worth considering when it comes to completing the challenge.
Firstly, you can drop there straight from the battle bus if you want to get it out of the way. The only trouble is this gives you the highest chance of dying and having to try again, as plenty of players will be landing here, and few will be courteous enough to let you do the challenge.
An alternate strategy, which I favor, is to bide your time and wait for the game to progress. By doing so, more players may eliminate each other, increasing the likelihood that you’ll encounter an unoccupied location and finish the task undisturbed.
If Shipwreck Shallow is situated close to the center of the map, it increases the likelihood that it will fall within the affected area when the boundaries start shrinking and eliminating zones.
You may encounter some good fortune during this process, but with a little persistence, it shouldn’t require more than a few attempts. Only a small number of individuals throughout history have had consistently bad luck to this extent.
