As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for Hollywood-Bollywood connections, I must say that reminiscing through Hrithik Roshan‘s BTS photos from Karan Arjun is like stepping into a time machine. The camaraderie between the three Khans (Hrithik, Salman, and Shah Rukh) is palpable, and it’s fascinating to witness the young Hrithik embodying ‘young Kabir.’
1995’s beloved film Karan Arjun has returned to movie theaters, and Hrithik Roshan, who was an assistant director on set, has shared some valuable throwback photos featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan from the sets. Additionally, Hrithik mentioned that he resembled a “young Kabir,” his character in the YRF Spy Universe, which has sparked our wish for their on-screen collaboration once more.
On November 23rd, 2024, Hrithik Roshan posted some behind-the-scenes photos from the Karan Arjun set onto Instagram. The initial picture was black and white, showing him sandwiched between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, with Salman placing a comforting hand on Hrithik’s shoulder.
In the second photograph, the Khan duo (Shah Rukh and Salman) were depicted wearing outfits for the song “Bhangra Paa Le,” while flying a kite. Hrithik Roshan was among them, along with other team members.
In the caption, Hrithik remarked, “Hehe, I resemble a youthful version of Kabir alongside Karan and Arjun.” It sparks our excitement for the possibility of Kabir teaming up with Tiger and Pathaan in the Spy Universe in the future.

Hrithik Roshan reminisced about the initial screening of Karan Arjun before its premiere. He disclosed, “On the day of release, I remember Minerva being the primary theater. My father’s other assistant Anurag (in the second picture wearing a white sweatshirt) and I screened the print prior to release, and we were all quite disappointed as it appeared dark and dull. We had the entire screen cleaned, and as the dirt and grime vanished into the big washcloth, the manager announced, ‘(This screen hasn’t been cleaned for 15 years.)’
During the shooting of “Bhangda Paale,” Hrithik Roshan shared an amusing story about how he prevented Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan from leaving Sariska late one night, planning to drive to Delhi. The team was in high spirits and promised to return by morning, but Hrithik was shocked and climbed onto the hood of the car to halt them. He had to ensure that his father didn’t lose a day’s work, as they were due back at 6am.
I can’t help but exclaim, as a die-hard fan then aged 17, watching Salman and Shahrukh perform was an unparalleled education for me. The set of Karan Arjun became my very own acting school, where I learned the craft in the most practical way possible. It’s thrilling to know that this timeless classic is back on the big screen once more!
