To note, Ozark and Breaking Bad are two popular American drama series available for streaming on Netflix. Conversely, Mirzapur is a crime drama series from India, which can be found on Prime Video. The initial season of this show debuted in 2018, and due to the positive reception, seasons two and three were subsequently released in 2020 and 2024 respectively.
Building on the success, the creators are planning to expand the popular series into a comprehensive movie format. The exciting news was shared last October with a teaser video tagged, “Instead of sweets for Diwali, here’s Mirzapur’s real chocolate.
In 2026, the Mirzapur film – a creation by Puneet Krishna and helmed by Gurmmeet Singh – is set to be released. This upcoming production will star prominent characters from the series, such as Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, and Abhishek Banerjee who will take on key roles.
In terms of his career, Hrithik will next appear in the much-anticipated film “War 2.” This upcoming movie, a follow-up to the 2021 release, stars Jr NTR and Kiara Advani in pivotal roles. Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films, it is scheduled for release on August 14, 2025.
