Hublot Readies Bold New Big Bang References at LVMH Watch Week

This year at LVMH Watch Week, I’ve been blown away by Hublot’s bold new creations! They’ve rolled out four fresh models, drawing inspiration from the Spirit of Big Bang and Big Bang series. Across their collection, they’re staying true to their fearless spirit, pushing the boundaries with technical and aesthetic advancements. And as a special touch, they’ve crafted a unique timepiece to honor the Year of the Snake!

Spirit of Big Bang Chronograph

Three brand new, limited-edition versions of the Spirit of Big Bang Chronograph are unveiled, boasting distinctly colored ceramic builds in Sky Blue, Dark Green, and Sand Beige. These timepieces maintain the iconic barrel-shaped cases that measure 42mm in diameter, while their dials showcase an openworked design. To complement the watches, rubber straps are included, which echo each color scheme in a harmonious tone. This creates a unified and fresh visual impact, characterized by a monochromatic theme.

These new timepieces can be seen as they are operated by the self-winding skeleton chronograph caliber HUB4700, housed within an open dial and caseback. This mechanism boasts approximately 50 hours of uninterrupted operation. The Big Bang Chronograph ceramic watches, inspired by spirit, are available for $27,400 USD each, with only 200 units produced.

Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green SAXEM

At this year’s LVMH Watch Week 2024, Hublot showcased a new version of their Big Bang Unico wristwatch. This timepiece includes a SAXEM construction in an attention-grabbing emerald green hue. The striking blend of color and material is making a return appearance in the recently unveiled Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green SAXEM, offering a refreshing encore.

This exclusive timepiece showcases its unique method of exploring transparency in watchmaking through its design. The movement at its core, MHUB6035 automatic tourbillon, is entirely developed internally. It features a gold micro-rotor placed on the dial side, ensuring a seamless winding experience and boasting a 72-hour power reserve.

The intricate dial, accented by practical sapphire details and a deeper shade, offers an appealing contrast to the vibrant SAXEM casing. This timepiece includes two parallel rubber straps – one in sleek black and another in translucent green for diverse fashion options.

18 selectively launched units, the Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Green SAXEM carry a price of approximately $231,000 USD.

Big Bang MECA-10 42mm

For almost a decade now, Hublot has maintained its commitment to innovation by presenting three fresh versions of their Big Bang MECA-10 watch, which come in a smaller, sleeker 42mm case size, staying faithful to the original design’s legacy.

Rather than using a traditional dial, this timepiece highlights its technological prowess by placing the balance wheel front and center, resulting in an animated spectacle that is always visible on the watch face.

Equipped with the HUB4700 Manufacture movement, this latest model boasts an exceptional 10-day power reserve, thanks to two mainspring barrels. What makes it stand out is its use of a crémaillère rack system to showcase the remaining days of autonomy digitally – a unique feature for mechanical watches. The Big Bang Meca-10 comes in three versions: King Gold, Titanium, and Frosted Carbon. Its price ranges from $23,000 to $42,700 USD.

Spirit of Big Bang Year of the Snake

Introduced earlier this month, the “Spirit of Big Bang Year of the Snake” by Hublot marks a unique, limited-edition celebration for the approaching Lunar New Year. In this iteration, Hublot creatively redesigns the “Spirit of Big Bang” in a covert style.

The design for this year’s zodiac-inspired watch is centered around a 42mm black ceramic case, which holds an openworked dial embellished with a captivating gold-plated serpent decoration that gracefully winds around three subdials. This intricate pattern is highlighted by a matching ceramic bezel etched with snake scale motifs and continues onto the matte black rubber strap.
