As a gamer with a soft spot for horror movies and a penchant for unique merchandise, I can’t help but be thrilled by HUF’s latest offering – their 50th anniversary collection dedicated to “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre“. Growing up on a steady diet of 80s slasher flicks, this iconic movie was a staple in my horror movie marathons.
50 years since “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” hit screens, HUF is unveiling a fresh collection that highlights the iconic horror’s grisly imagery and chilling themes.
On a tight budget yet packed with impact, this movie revolutionized the slasher genre by blending horror, humor, and understated social critique, as HUF described it,” the brand noted about the indie film. Raising a glass to Leatherface’s enduring cult status, they launched a collection of military jackets, cable-knit sweaters, hoodies, T-shirts, and accessories adorned with the movie’s distinctive imagery.
Notable among them is the M64 military jacket, which showcases the title of the film emblazoned on its chest pockets in vibrant orange and a chilling image of Leatherface printed on its back. Later, a sweater knitted delicately carries the movie’s tagline — “Who will live and what price will they pay?” — in intricate threadwork, and an assortment of T-shirts display the film’s iconic graphics.
To highlight, this particular line offers a chainsaw model 245A, which the manufacturer claims to be functioning and exceptionally loud. This power tool, visibly stained with blood, costs approximately $1,974 USD. It boasts an operational diecast construction, a single cylinder engine, and distinctive HUF branding.
Emulating the popular “run-and-shoot aesthetic” that captivated viewers at the movie’s debut, HUF’s promotional video for their collection showcases Leatherface and his iconic chainsaw. On Instagram, HUF posed the question, “Who will make it through?” along with the visual.
