Watching Fox News’ “Gutfeld!” can be disorienting, even for conservatives.
As a movie buff, I find myself drawn to late-night talk shows that push the boundaries of what’s considered acceptable humor for television. Shows like “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, “The Tonight Show”, and “The Late Show” fall into this category, where they fearlessly tackle jokes that might otherwise be deemed off-limits by broadcast and cable networks.
Wait … we can joke about these things? Revolutionary!
Here’s just one example:

Late-night show hosts have conspicuously not addressed or discussed Bass, Governor Gavin Newsom, during the California wildfire crisis.
Instead of being hosted by Greg Gutfeld from Fox News, the program features Kat Timpf, Tyrus, and a previous “Red Eye” star who critique both Democrats and Republicans each night. This defiant spirit, along with a certain former president’s comeback, has significantly increased the show’s viewership, as reported by LateNighter.
Last week, out of Gutfeld!’s four fresh episodes (Monday’s show was postponed), three managed to attract over 4 million viewers each – a viewership mark the show had exceeded merely four times previously.
To put it simply, during the week of January 20, 2025, the show attracted an average of 4,094,000 viewers per night. This is a significant increase of 64% compared to its 2024 average nightly audience of 2,500,000 viewers, which was already a record-breaking number for the show.
The show often beats its late-night competitors — with two caveats.
The program goes live at 10 pm Eastern Time, providing it with an edge against other shows. These programs usually begin at 11:30 pm ET or later, a time when some viewers are already asleep. However, “Gutfeld!” is broadcast on cable television as opposed to the others that are on traditional TV networks.
Either way, “Gutfeld!” is growing.

So far, the most popular episode of the show has had Donald Trump, who was a candidate at the time, as a guest. It’s likely that he may make another appearance on “Gutfeld!” during this year.
Even more likely?
The President won’t be invited to yuk it up with any of Gutfeld’s competitors.
