Hugh Jackman Unveils Sheep-Filled Footage for Detective Film ‘Three Bags Full’

Hugh Jackman will soon be in his shepherd era.

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement about the upcoming movie “Three Bags Full: A Sheep Detective Movie,” which was unveiled at CinemaCon on Wednesday night during the Amazon MGM Studios presentation held inside the grand Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. It’s going to be quite a spectacle!

During the event, Jackman and his co-star Emma Thompson showcased a video segment that offered a sneak peek at the upcoming film. “The concept,” Thompson explained, “is an incredibly heartwarming blend of animals and humans – truly extraordinary, loving, and beautiful.

Regarding the movie that Kyle Balda directed, according to Jackman, “Craig Mazin’s humor is simply unmatched.

In the film, as expected, there were numerous scenes featuring sheep. In an on-set interview, Hugh Jackman remarked, “This movie is like a murder mystery, and I always enjoy those,” he said. “The movie really tugs at your heartstrings.

Guided by renowned animation director Balda, known for hits like “Minions” and “Despicable Me 3,” and written by the brilliant mind of Mazin, this tale centers around Hugh Jackman portraying George Hardy, a shepherd devoted to his flock, primarily for their wool. Each evening, he reads a murder mystery aloud, feigning that his sheep can comprehend it, unaware that not only do they grasp the story but they engage in heated debates about the culprit long after the reading has ended.

Upon George’s unexpected death under enigmatic conditions, the flock instantly perceives it as a murder and believe they possess all the necessary knowledge to unravel the mystery. In contrast, the local police officer Tim Derry, portrayed by Nicholas Braun from ‘Succession’, has never tackled a significant crime in his career. As a result, the flock deduce that they must investigate and solve the case themselves, even if it means venturing beyond their meadow for the first time and acknowledging that the human world might not be as straightforward as it seems in books.

In this movie, you’ll find an exceptional ensemble of actors such as Nicholas Galitzine, Molly Gordon, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O’Dowd, Regina Hall, and Patrick Stewart, along with Hong Chau and Thompson. This cinematic piece is adapted from the novel “Three Bags Full” by Leonie Swann, which was first released in 2005.
