Hulu is extending its relationship with Alex Cooper.
Disney’s streaming service revealed on Tuesday that they will be releasing the documentary titled “Call Her Alex” on June 10, which is just two days after its initial screening at the Tribeca Festival. This two-part documentary chronicles Cooper’s journey as she gears up for her first tour in support of her popular podcast “Call Her Daddy“, and provides a glimpse into her life from her days growing up in Pennsylvania to becoming a significant media personality.
In this version, I aimed to make the sentence structure more conversational while maintaining the original meaning.
The show in question is the second production by Cooper’s company, Unwell Productions (responsible for “Call Her Alex”), that has been acquired by Hulu. Additionally, it should be noted that Unwell Productions is also involved with “Overboard for Love”, a dating series where Cooper serves as an executive producer. This project was greenlit to series by Hulu back in March.
As a fan of the Daddy Gang since diving into Call Her Daddy, I’m excited to reveal that this documentary series peels back even more layers. It offers an intimate glimpse into the moments that have molded me – the unfiltered, the chaotic, and the deeply personal aspects I’ve hesitated to expose until now. My intention is that by inviting others to join me on this leg of my journey, they’ll not only get closer to understanding who I am but also find inspiration to embrace their own paths with courage and strength.
As a fervent admirer, I had the pleasure of sharing the director’s chair for “Call Her Alex,” under the guidance of Ry Russo-Young, who has graced us with her vision in shows like HBO’s “Nuclear Family” and “Shrinking.” Braden Bochner and Christopher Foss were my esteemed executive producers. The talented Holly Siegel served as our producer. This project was brought to life through the combined efforts of Hulu and Lionsgate, acting on behalf of Unwell, in our mutual pursuit of excellence.
